Strawberry Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 crust
  • 3 pints strawberries
  • 1 c sugar
  • 3 TB cornstarch
  • 1/2 c water
  • 4-5 drops red food color

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
2. Bake pie crust, cool completely.
3. Crush enough strawberries to make 1 cup puree.
4. In 2 quart saucepan, mix sugar and cornstarch.
5. Stir in crushed strawberries and water.
6. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and thickens.
7. Stir in food coloring. Cool 30 minutes.
8. Place remaining strawberries, whole or sliced, in cooled baked shell. Pour cooked strawberry mixture evenly over berries.
9. Refrigerate for 3 hours.
