Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 8 pinapple spears
- 9 maraschino cherry halves
- 8 peacan halves
- Batter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup orange juice
Preparation
Step 1
topping
melt butter in pan over low heat, add brown sugar and stir well. Pour into square cake dish, spreading to cover bottom.
arrange pineapple, cherry halves and pecan on top of sugar mixture.
sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
cream shortening and sugar in bowl until light and fluffy. add egg, vanilla and beat until smooth.
spread batter over toplpling. bake at 325.
remoivew from oven, let stand 5 minutes. Invert.
