Ziti Puttanesca

Ingredients

  • 16 oz. Ziti Rigati, Uncooked.
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil.
  • 2 Cloves Garlic finely chopped.
  • 29 oz crushed tomatoes.
  • 1 cup pitted ripe olives coarsly chopped
  • 2 Tbsp capers.
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh basil or 1 tsp dried basil leaves.
  • 1 tsp dried red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese.

Preparation

Step 1

Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Cook garlic until golden, about 1 minute; do not burn. Add tomatoes, olives, capers, basil, red pepper, and salt. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Toss hot pasta, sauce, and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese; sprinkle with remaining cheese.
