Clam Chowder

Ingredients

  • Bacon or ham
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 garlic glove minced
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/2 potatoes
  • 1-6 1/2oz can clams drained
  • 2 cups clam juice heated
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • salt and pepper

Preparation

Step 1

1) Melt butter and oil in a large pan and add onion and garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes or until vegetables are soft. Sprinkle in flour and stir for 1-2 minutes.

2) Add potatoes and clam juice. Bring to boil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 20 minutes.

3) Stir in half and half. Add clams and ham and heat for 10 minutes.

4) Remove from heat and add whipped cream.
