Ozark Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 3 cups finely chopped peeled apples
  • 1/2 chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar and butter in mixer. Add in eggs and beat for 1 minute. Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt together. Add to creamed mixture, and mix to combine. Add water, vanilla, apples and pecans, stirring to mix. Spoon into greased 9x13 cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until cake tests done with toothpick. May serve with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream.

I add cream cheese frosting. Yum!
