Mushroom Red Wine Sauce

4 servings. This sauce is especially good over chicken, beef or fish.

Ingredients

  • 2 T unsalted butter
  • 1 lb baby portobello mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1/4-1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 t fresh ground pepper
  • 3/4-1 c dry red wine
  • 1 T chopped fresh rosemary

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in lg skillet or pan over med high heat. Add mushroom slices & cook until they release their juices & soften, 5-7 min. Add salt & pepper. Continue to cook until the juices evaporate. Add the wine & rosemary. Bring to simmer. Cook for 3 min. Pour or spoon the sauce over cooked meat.
