Ginger Beef

Ingredients

  • Batter Mix:
  • 10 ounces Flank steak
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 Tablespoons oil
  • 10 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 ounce fresh garlic
  • 8 Tablespoons sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons mushroom soy sauce
  • 2 ounces ginger root, chopped
  • Sauce:
  • 2 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons red pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili pepper

Preparation

Step 1

1. Batter Mix: Mix the ingredients. Cut the steak in thin slices and mix in the batter.

2. Fry beef until until crisp, 7-10 minutes. Remove from pan and set this aside for now.

3. Sauce: Mash garlic and ginger root. Combine with rest of ingredients. Heat and thicken with 1/4 cup water and 11/2 Tbsp. flour. Once you have this heated up, add the beef to the sauce and heat.
