Chili Lentils

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups cooked Dried Lentils (1/2 lb; See note below)
  • 1 14.5oz Can of Tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp of Chilli Powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 1 tsp or Oregano
  • 1 lb of Ground Beef
  • 1 large Onion minced.

Preparation

Step 1

Brown Ground Beef in small amount of oil. Add Onion and Garlic and saute until limp but not brown.
Discard Garlic.
Add all other ingredients and simmer for about an hour.

Note: 1/2 lb of Lentils will yield more then 2 Cups cooked Lentils but that is okay. To cook Lentils, simmer gently in plenty of UNSALTED water for 30 minutes.
