Ingredients
- 4 lg vidalia onions, sliced
- 1 c chicken broth
- 2 t olive oil
- 1 T flour
- 1 c FF milk
- 1/4 t nutmeg
- 1/4 t salt
- 1/8 t pepper
- 1 c bread crumbs
- 1/4 c cheese
Preparation
Step 1
Saute onions. Add broth, boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 mins. Transfer onions to baking dish. Preheat broiler. Add oil to skillte, whisk in flour. Add milk, whisking. When thickened, remove and add spices Pour sauce over onions. Stir. Combine bread crumbs and cheese and sprinkle over the onions. Broil 2-3 min.
