Caramel Corn (Louise's)

Ingredients

  • l c melted butter
  • 2 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 c light corn syrup
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 6 c popped corn (1 c unpopped)
  • peanuts (if desired)

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter, add sugar, syrup & salt. Stir until boiling. Boil for 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat, stir in baking soda and vanilla. Slowly pour over popcorn & peanuts in 2 large bowls. Mix well. Spread on 2 large pans. Bake in 250 deg. oven for 1 hour stirring every 15 mins. Break apart. Store in container.
