Chocolate Cherry Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box devil's food cake mix
  • 1 can (20 oz.) cherry pie filling (I use light to cut calories)
  • 1 t almond extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour 9x13" pan
Beat dry cake mix with pie filling, almond extract, and eggs for 1 min on low speed. Beat 2 min. on medium speed.
Pour batter in prepared pan and bake 30-35 min. or until tests done. Times will vary depending on size of pan.
Stir together sugar, butter, and milk and heat to boiling. Boil 1 min. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips. Stir until melted. Immediately pour over cake. (This can be done while cake is still warm.)
