Apple Strudel Germany

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups apple brandy
  • 1/2 cups raisins
  • 1 1/4 Granny Smith apples peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp grated lemon rind
  • 10 sheets phyllo dough
  • 6 T butter melted 3/4 stick
  • 1 T p. sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Heat brandy with raisins to plump, about 10 min.
Combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon,rind, and raisins wih liquid in bowl.
Unroll douigh and cover with wet towel. Lay out 1 sheet and cover with butter. lay out another sheet and repeat for 8 more times.
Spoon filling over dough along edge. Leaving 1 inch at each side. Fold up into thirds. Slit tops and brush with butter.
Bake. 375 oven for 40 minutes until browned.
Let cool on rack. Dust with P sugar.
