Bavarian Apple Torte

Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 1 c. Flour
  • 1/3 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Filling:
  • 1 egg
  • 1 (8oz) cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Topping:
  • 4 thinly sliced apples
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3 c. Sugar
  • 1/4 c. Slivered almonds (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Combine crust ingredients and press into bottom and upside a little in an Ungreased springform pan. Beat filling ingredients until smooth and pour over crust. Combine apples, cinnamon, sugar, and then later over cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Lower heat to 400 degrees and bake for 25 minutes longer. Cool on rack before removing sides. Serve warm or chilled.
