Baked Rigatoni and Sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 package (1 lb.) Rigatoni, uncooked
  • 1 lb. rope style hot or sweet Italian sausage
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1-3/4 cups (15 oz.) ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups (about 28 oz. jar) spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup (4 oz.) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 44 degrees. Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in 5-quart saucepan over medium heat, cook meat until brown on both sides. Remove from pan; slice into thin pieces. Return meat to pan with onion; cook 5 minutes or until onion is tender and meat is thoroughly cooked. Stir in hot pasta and ricotta cheese until well blended. In 13 x 9-inch baking dish, spread 1 cup spaghetti sauce evenly over pasta; sprinkle with remaining cheeses. Cover with foil; bake 20 minutes. Remove foil; bake 5 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
