Spanish Tomato Rice

Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 C finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 C chopped green pepper
  • 1 one pound can tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 C water
  • 3/4 C rice, uncooked
  • 1/2 C chili sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Cook bacon til crisp; remove. Pour off half the fat, cook onion and green pepper until tender, but not brown.
Add remaining ingredients, cover and simmer 45 minutes.
Crumble bacon on top.
