Step 1

Made basil simple syrup mixing 1 bunch fresh basil leaves, 2 c sugar and 1 c water. Simmer until sugar disolved, about 5 minutes, then let cool. In pitcher mix 2 c fresh lemon juice (from 12-15 lemons), 2 c basil simple syrup and 2 c sparkling water. Mix and pour over ice and add lemon twist.
