Ingredients
- 2 lbs frozen chopped spinach
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp diced onions
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 3/4 tsp celery salt
- 3/4 tsp garlic salt
- 6 oz Monterrey jack cheese, cubed
- 1 tbsp minced jalapenos
- salt and cayenne pepper to taste
- Buttered bread crumbs
Preparation
Step 1
in a medium saucepan, melt butter
add onions and saute 3-5 mins
whisk in flour, stirring until blended and smooth, but not brown
slowly stir in evaporated milk, spinach (still frozen), and Worcestershire.
stirring constantly, cook mixture until smooth and thick.
add pepper, celery salt, garlic salt, cheese, and jalapenos.
stir until cheese is malted
season to taste with salt and cayenne
por mixture into casserole dish and top with buttered bread crumbs.
heat in a 350 degree oven until top is browned.
