Cream of Garlic Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup chopped garlic
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 5 cups homemade chicken broth
  • 3/4 cups heavy cream
  • Salt and ground pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and onions and cook until soft. Stir in the flour and cook, but don't brown it. Work in the chicken broth with a whisk, 1 cup at a time. Add the cream and season with salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, about 20 minutes.
