Italian Sausage Sub Sandwich

Ingredients

  • • 6 each Italian Sausages - Sweet, Mild, or Hot as you prefer
  • • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • • 1/2 each Green bell pepper - cut into strips
  • • 1/2 each Red bell pepper - cut into strips
  • • 1/2 cup Onion - cut into strips
  • • 12 ounce Pizza sauce - Big Oven Recipe 161218
  • • 1 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese - shredded or six slices
  • • 6 each Rolls - 8 inch Sour Dough
  • -- Aluminum foil --

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350.
Cut rolls lengthwise but not all the way through. Pour olive oil into skillet. Cook sausage over medium heat for 10-12 minutes or until done. Remove from heat. Add peppers and onions. Sautee until soft, about 3 to 5 minutes.
Open rolls and spread 1/6 of sauce mixture into bottom of each. Sprinkle 2 ounces of cheese or place one slice over sauce. Add vegetables and sausage. Wrap in aluminum foil.
Bake for 8 minutes to 10 minutes.
