Oranges in Citrus Syrup

Ingredients

  • 2 C fresh orange juice
  • 2/3 C sugar
  • 1 1/2 finely grated orange zest + strips for garnish
  • 1 1/2 T Grand Marnier
  • 8 navel oranges

Preparation

Step 1

In med saucepan, combine orange juice with sugar & orange zest. Bring to boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Let cool, then stir in Grand Marnier.
Meanwhile peel oranges, removing all white pith. Cut crosswise 1/3" thick & transfer to large, shallow serving. bowl. Pour syrup over oranges & refrigerate until chilled, @ 2 hrs.
Garnish with orange strips & serve.
