Ingredients
- 2 quarts strawberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 TBS cornstarch
- Baked pie shell
- Red food coloring
Preparation
Step 1
Clean and hull strawberries, slice enough to make 1 1/2 cups, set aside
Mix sugar and cornstarch in 2 quart saucepan. Over medium heat add one cup water and stir until smooth. After mixture is smooth, add reserved, sliced strawberries and stir constantly until thick and clear, then bring to full boil for one minute. Remove from heat, add a few drops of red food coloring and cool completely.
Once cooled, add remainder of whole berries, fold to mix. Pour into pie shell, chill until firm.
Serve with whipped cream
