Italian Lemon Cookies

Ingredients

  • cookies
  • 3 cups flour
  • 6 tbs. baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 lb. butter (1 stick)
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 tbs. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon extract
  • Icing
  • 1/2 stick melted butter
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • Milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy
Add eggs, vanilla & lemon extracts beat together
Then Add dry ingredients

Let rise 30 minutes

Roll into cigar shapes ….. Then make into knots
(make small they will get big)

Bake @ 400 for 12 minutes

Icing
Mix al ingredients together dip cooled cookie into icing
Sprinkle with colored sugar (if desired)
