Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 7 ozs macaroni
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 teaspoons mustard
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and cool for 8 minutes. Macaroni should be al dente, drain.

In a 3 quart saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in flour. Cook for 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Mix in milk, cream cheese, salt, pepper and mustard. Continue cooking until sauce is thickened. Add macaroni and cheese.

Pour into 2 cup casserole dish.

In seperate bowl mix bread crumbs, butter and parsley, spread over macaroni. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
