Pasta- Pink Vodka sauce- Mom

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. penne
  • 5 Tbl butter
  • 2/3 cup vodka
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 can (16 oz) Italian plum tomatoes, drained, seeded and pureed
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

cook penne al dente
meanwhile, melt butter in large skillet over moderate heat
add vodka & pepper flakes, simmer for 2 minutes
add pureed tomatoes & cream, simmer 5 minutes longer
season with salt
drain pasta and pour it into skillet with sauce
reduce heat to low, add cheese & mix
pour into heated bowl and serve at once
