green sour tomato

Ingredients

  • Into each sterilized jar place:
  • 5 hard green tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. mixed pickling whole spice
  • 1 large garlic clove
  • 1 sprig of dill, fresh or dry
  • PICKLING SOLUTION
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup salt

Preparation

Step 1

Wash tomatoes; pack tightly into 1 qt. jars or large crock. Bring pickling solution to quick boil. Add bay leaf, spice, garlic and dill to each jar. Pour hot pickling solution into filled jars; seal at once. Keep at room temperature 1 week or until pickled enough for taste; then refrigerate
