Italian Sausage and Pasta Bake

Ingredients

• 2 1/2 c. dried cavatelli or medium shell pasta
• 12 oz. sweet Italian sausage links, cut into 3/4" pieces
• 1 can (29 oz.) Tomato sauce
• 1 tsp. dried basil, crushed
• 1 tsp. dried oregano, crushed
• 1 c. shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Cook pasta according to package directions, drain.
Meanwhile, cook sausage in large skillet until no pink remains; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, basil, oregano and half of cheese. Stir in pasta. Spoon mixture into 2 quart casserole. Bake, covered at 400 degrees, for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake, uncovered, 5 minutes more or until heated through. Serve with grated Paramesan cheese, if desired.
