Ground beef - Italian Macaroni Skillet (Gayle Lovette)

Ingredients

  • 1 teasp. Olive oil
  • 1 large onion (1 cup chopped);
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium green pepper
  • 2 teasp. Bottled minced garlic
  • 1 (14 1/2 ox) can fat-free chicken broth
  • 2 cups spaghetti sauce from jar
  • 8 oz small macaroni
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small can mushrooms
  • 1 teasp of oregano leaves

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil (or spray pan first). Brown onion and green pepper and garlic; add ground beef. Cook until browned. Add chicken broth, spaghetti sauce and uncooked macaroni. Stir and cover skillet. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and cook about 15 minutes. Serve with parmesan cheese on top.
