Sausage And Cheese Surprise

Ingredients

  • 8 slices firm white bread, cubed or 1 pkg. stove-top stuffing
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 lbs. ground sausage (hot or regular)
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 3/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Preparation

Step 1

Place bread in greased 8x12 pan. Top with cheese. In a fry pan, brown sausage, break up, and place on top of cheese and bread. Beat eggs with 2 1/2 cups milk and mustard. Pour over top of sausage. Cover pan and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 300 degrees

Before cooking, mix soup with 1/2 cup milk and pour over top. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
