FRIED CORN MEAL MUSH

Ingredients

  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup corn meal
  • 1 cup cold water
  • ¾ tsp. salt

Preparation

Step 1

Add all ingredients to boiling water; stir constantly. Lower heat; cover with lid and cook 5 minutes more, stirring occasionally.

Pour into loaf pan and let set overnight in refrigerator. In morning turn out onto plate, slice into 3/8 inch slices and fry in shortening. Serve hot with butter and syrup.
