beef stroganoff

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs round steak, cut 1/4 inch thick
  • 3 tbsp olive oil or cooking oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 cup sherry
  • 1 pint sour cream

Preparation

Step 1

cut round steak; brown in olive oil. push meat to one side of skillet and add onions and mushrooms. saute; stir in tomato paste, sprinkle flour over all. add sherry and stir until a gravy is formed. cover and cook till tender. blend in sour cream; heat, but do not boil. serve over noodles.
