Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. milk
  • 12 c. (4 lbs) potato slices
  • Chopped onions (as desired)
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375. Melt 4 Tbsp. butter, stir in flour and salt. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly until sauce boils and thickens. Add potatoes and onions and heat with occasional stirring until the sauce reboils. Put the mixture into a shallow greased casserole. Drizzle 2 Tbsp butter (melted) over top. Place on center rack and bake until potatoes are tender. Ham can be added when baking and you will have a one dish meal.
