apple strudel

old-fashioned strudel was to fattening and time-consuming, but this revised classic is just as god. It's best served warm from the oven.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 3 cups coarsely chopped peeled apples
  • 1/3 cup plus 2 tsp sugar, divided
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 8 sheets phyllo dough(18 inches x 14 inches)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil

Preparation

Step 1

add all ingredients and mix. roll dough. bake 350 for 30 minutes.
