Sausage & Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 lb bulk italian sausage
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 - 15 oz can whole tomatoes, broken up, undrained
  • 2- 8 oz cans tomato paste
  • 1- 4 oz can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp basil leaves
  • 1/4 tsp oregano leaves
  • 1/3 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 - 13.25 oz pkg whole wheat penne rigate
  • 2 tbsp. margarine

Preparation

Step 1

In large skillet, cook sausage and onion, drain. Add next 8 ingredients. Simmer 15 minutes. Cook penne rigate according to package instructions, drain. Toss with margarine. Serve sauce over hot cooked pasta.
