Genuine North Carolina Pecan Pie
This is the pie that won the pie contest at our church one year. Greg Wiggins made it famous!

Ingredients
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 cup Karo syrup
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients, except pecans, until well blended. Fold in pecans. Pour into unbaked pie shell (deep dish works best). Bake on a cookie sheet for 50-55 minutes or until a knife comes out clean 2/3 way between center and edge. Don't over bake. It may look a little runny but it will firm up.
