Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 11/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 11/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup beer
- vegetable oil for deep frying
- Fish fillets
Preparation
Step 1
In large bowl,whisk together flour, baking powder,salt,egg,water and beer until smooth. Let stand 20 minutes.
In deep-fryer or wok,heat oil to 350*F. Cut fillets into serving-size portions: pat dry. Dip in batter,turning to coat evenly. Fry,3 at a time,5 to 7 minutes or until crisp and golden brown on all sides, turning frequently. Remove with slotted spoon to plate lined with paper towels. Let stand 1 minute.
