Ingredients
- 1 Loaf French bread, cut into 1/2 inch slices
- 2 cups (8ozs) shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 Envelope onion soup mix, prepared according to package directions
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees
Arrange bread slices on baking sheets and bake for 5 minutes per side, until dry and golden brown
Reduce the oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 9 x 13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray
Arrange half the bread slices in a single layer over the bottom of the baking dish
Sprinkle with 1 cup cheese and top with the remaining bread slices. Pour the prepared onion soup over the bread and sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup cheese
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the bread has absorbed most of the soup and the cheese is golden
