Sheath Cake

Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 2 C Flour
  • 2 C Sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 4 Tbsp. Cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 box powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Bring margarine, water, shortening & cocoa to a boil. Pour over flour & sugar. Stir until smooth. Add eggs, baking soda, vanilla, buttermilk, cinnamon & salt. Stir until smooth. Pour into well greased 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Frosting:
Heat butter, cocoa & milk in pan on stovetop. Add nuts & powdered sugar. Put on top of cake as soon as cake comes out of the oven.
