CHOCOLATE SOUR CREAM FROSTING

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter, cut into 8 pieces
  • 2/3 C cocoa powder
  • 3 C confectioners sugar
  • 1/3 C sour cream
  • 1 t vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat or melt it in a large glass bowl in microwave, 45 seconds. Place the melted butter in a large mixing bowl and add cocoa. Whisk until smooth.
Add confectioners sugar alternately with the sour cream, blending with electric mixer on low for 1 - 1 1/2 min, or until incorporated.
Stop mixer, add vanilla. Increase mixer speed to medium and beat until light and fluffy, 1 minute more.
