Ingredients
- 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (packed) light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon banana extract
- 3/4 cup mashed ripe banana
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 2 cups)
- (Optional) 4 ounces chopped walnuts (about 1 cup)
Preparation
Step 1
Step 1: Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
Step 3: In a large bowl, blend sugars together.
Step 4: Add butter to sugars and with an electric mixer, combine to form a grainy paste.
Step 5: Add egg, banana extract, and mashed banana, beta at medium speed until smooth.
Step 6: Add flour mixture, chocolate chips, and walnuts (optional)gradually, blend until just combined.
Step 7: Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.
Step 8: Bake 20-24 minutes or until cookie edges begin to brown lightly. Transfer immediately to cooling surface.
