Ingredients
- In a pot on stove place the following:
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground pork
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves (ground)
- Pinch of allspice
- 2 teaspoons dried thyme
- 1 bay leaf
Preparation
Step 1
Mix above well. Simmer, covered for about 45 minutes, until pork is cooked and loses it's pink colour.
Add 1 cooked and mashed potato. Taste for seasoning and add more as desired. Remove the bay leaf. Cool.
Line a pie pan with pastry or use a prepared shell. Add the meat filling. Cover with pastry. Make 3 or 4 incisions on top to allow steam to escape.
Bake 45 minutes in oven preheated to 375F, or till pastry is golden brown. Serve hot.
May be frozen and reheated.
