Dumpling and Cheese Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 package creamette dumpling egg noodles
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 cups cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 can chopped pimiento, drained

Preparation

Step 1

prepare creamette dumpling egg noodles according to package directions. drain. in medium saucepan, saute onion and celery in butter until tender; stir in flour. gradually add milk and cream. cook stirring constantly until sauce is smooth and thickened. remove from heat. add seasonings and 3 cups of the cheese. stir until cheese melts. combine noodles, sauce and pimiento. Top with remaining cheese. pour into a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. bake uncovered in a 350 F oven for 30 minutes
