Goulashsuppe (Mom's)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef (chuck)
  • 3 oz. onions (chopped)
  • crisco
  • 3 oz. paprika
  • 2 med. potatoes (diced)
  • 1 t. carraway seeds
  • 1 t. marjoram
  • 1 small can tomatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 green pepper (sliced thin)
  • 1 c. saurkraut

Preparation

Step 1

Brown the cubed beef. Add rest of ingredients. Add water (couple quarts)till covered about 3 inches. When meat is tender, add potatoes. Cook at great length. Thicken with cornstarch but still like soup.
