Step 1
Get a prebaked 9" graham cracker crust and melt 2 oz bittersweet chocolate with 2 tsp vegetable oil and brush over entire crust and chill until set. Whisk 3 large egg yolks, 1/2 c sugar, 3 tbsp cornstarch and a pinch of salt in a medium saucepan off heat until smooth. Gradually whisk in 2 c while milk, whisking constantly and bring to a full boil over medium heat and boil until thickened, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and whisk in 2 tbsp butter and 2 tsp vanilla extract. Fold in 3 sliced bananas and let cool slightly Pour filling into prepared pie crust. Cover with plastic wrap and chill until firm, at least 3 hours. Beat 1 c chilled heavy cream with 2 tbsp sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Spoon over pie. WE TRIED THIS 1/14 AND IT WAS VERY GOOD.
