Healthy breakfast sausage made with ground turkey - YUM!

Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground turkey breast
  • 1-1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
  • 2 tsp finely chopped fresh sage leaves
  • 2 tsp finely chopped fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/2 tsp finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
  • 2 tsp brown sugar substitute
  • 1 Tbsp Splenda
  • 1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (to taste)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 3 Tbsp no sugar added (NSA) applesauce
  • Up to 1/4 cup NSA chicken broth, as needed

Preparation

Step 1

Combine ground turkey with all other ingredients and chill for at least 1 hour and up to 24 hours.

Form into patties, about 2.75 ounces for a cooked 2 ounce patty

Cook over moderate heat until cooked thoroughly, about 3 minutes per side. DO NOT OVERCOOK.
