Millionaire's Shortbread Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. icing sugar
  • 3/4 c. butter, softened
  • 1 can Eagle Brand Dulce de Leche Caramel
  • 1 c. semisweet chocolate chips, melted
  • fleur de sel (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350.
Line an 8 x 8 baking pan with parchment.

1. In a medium bowl, combine flour & icing sugar.
2. Blend ib butter using a pastry blender or your fingers.
3. Press mixture into prepared pan.
4. Bake 20-25 minutes until lightly golden.
5. In a medium saucepan bring caramel sauce to a boil over medium heat. Stir constantly, cook 5 minutes until thickened.
6. Spread caramel over crust.
7. Pour melted chocolate evenly over caramel.
8. If usinf fleur de sel, sprinkle on top of chicolate.
9. Refrigerate at leasr 3 hours.
