Spicy Tomato Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 lg (1 qt) can Tomato Juice
  • 3 stalks celery
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 sm (15 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 2 tsp pickling spice
  • 6 cloves, whole
  • dash, cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1/8 c flour

Preparation

Step 1

Add all ingredients except for butter and flour and cook until soft. Strain well. Add butter and flour and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until slightly thickened.
