Cranberry Nut Bread

Aunt Jean's famous bread

Ingredients

  • 2 C coarsely cut or sliced cranberries
  • 1/2 C chopped nut
  • 1 T grated orange rind
  • 3/4 C orange juice
  • 2 C sifted flour
  • 1.4 t baking powder
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 C butter or margarine

Preparation

Step 1

Grease 9x5 loaf pans (or two smaller pans). Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine dry ingredients. Add liquids and combine only until moistened. Fold in nuts, cranberries and orange rind.

Bake for one hour at 350 degrees (or 45 minutes for small pans)
