Peppermint Pats

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Teaspoon Peppermint Extract
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Finely Crushed Hard Peppermint Candy
  • Red Decorator Sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Beat butter on high speed of electric mixer until soft and creamy. Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar, beating well. Add egg, beating well. Stir in flavorings. Gradually add flour; mix well. Stir in crushed candy.

Shape dough into 2 12-inch logs, and roll in red sugar; wrap logs in wax paper, and freeze until firm.

Slice logs into 1/2-inch thick slices, and place on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 350° for 8 - 10 minutes. Remove immediately to wire racks to cool.
