Ingredients
- 4 lbs beef or sirloin tips
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 c. chopped shallots
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp tomato paste (or ketchup)
- 1/4 c. red wine or water
- 3 tbsp flour
Preparation
Step 1
Combine 1/2 c. flour with salt and pepper and toss with beef cubes to coat thoroughly.
Place in slow cooker.
Add shallots.
Combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste. Pour over beef and vegetables; stir well. Cover and cook on low for 8 - 12 hours or on high for 4 - 6 hours.
One hour before serving turn slow cooker to high. Make a smooth paste of red wine (or water) and 3 tbsp flour. Stir into slow cooker; mix well. Cover and cook until thickened. (Alternatively, add 1 small container of sour cream just before serving.)
Serve over hot buttered noddles.
