Caramel Layer Squares

Ingredients

  • Combine in heavy saucepan:
  • 14 oz. (about 50) light caramels
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk
  • Cook over low heat until melted. Keep warm.
  • Combine: 1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/3 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

Stir dough together by hand. Press 1/2 of dough into 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 for 6 min. Sprinkle 6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips over crust and spread caramel mixture over all. Crumble reserved dough mixture. Bake 15-20 minutes.
